A great alternative to NZ sauvignon, the 2024 Santa Sofia Custoza DOC is a blended white drawing on almost all the grape varieties permitted in a Bianco di Custoza. It presents icing sugar, sweet almonds, banana and custard aromas and a pleasantly mineral palate with white peach, green apple, grapefruit, pineapple, and hints of spice. Good structure, vivid freshness and balanced intensity.Santa Sofia is located just north of Verona on the gentle slopes of the verdant Valpolicella Classico region and housed in the beautiful Villa Santa Sofia that was built back in 1560. The Begnoni family, who bought the villa along with its ancient cellars and vineyards in 1964, have worked to maintain the estate’s tradition of making approachable and elegant wines that represent the ancient Valpolicella terroir.
